SELF ASSESSMENTS

Are you claiming everything you should be?
Whether you’re a Sole Trader, Director (or not) and need to submit a return we can help you ensure you are being tax-efficient whilst remaining compliant.

Running a business is challenging and it's impossible for anyone to be an expert in all things.  At AMA Accountancy we work with businesses of all sizes from people just starting out, sole traders, community partnerships, charities, business partners and directors to ensure your accounts are in order and that you are operating within the law.  Our straightforward approach means we answer your queries quickly, and help you understand exactly what you need to make the most of your business income and let you get on with your day job!

"Alicia has just got me through my first tax return and she could not have made it any easier for me.  She is very thorough and helped me with things I had not even considered that I could claim back for.  It was a task I had been absolutely dreading but, as long as I can have her help again, next year will not be so daunting.  Utterly professional, very patient with my ridiculous questions, superb service.  I cannot recommend AMA accountancy highly enough."

We offer a range of services from regular bookkeeping to keep your accounts in check all year round to drafting and submitting your annual HMRC self assessment and tax return.

We can be available at times to suit you, as we understand that running a business is more than just a 9-5 commitment. Some clients prefer evening or weekend meetings and that’s fine.  Some of our clients prefer to work remotely so we can support with your HMRC self assessment tax return work by email, phone and through your accounting software, such as Free Agent, Xero or even Excel! If you are looking at moving to an accounting software, we can advise on the best ones for your business.

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax (MTD) rules apply to you if you’re registered for Income Tax Self Assessment and have a qualifying income of more than £10,000. If you meet this criteria, from 6 April 2024 you’ll need to use MTD compatible software to:

•    keep records of your business income and expenses in a digital format
•    send quarterly updates of your business income and expenses to HMRC
•    finalise your business income and submit your final declaration

AMA Accountancy can help you prepare for this deadline and ensure your systems are all in place to record your income and expenses, be ready to submit quarterly updates to HMRC and be ready to submit your final declaration on time.

Don’t leave your business accounts to the last minute.  Our busiest time of the year is approaching the tax return deadline as so many people leave their accounts disorganised and receipts in a pile until the HMRC deadline is looming.

Our efficient team will take the pressure off and help you organise your accounts and feel reassured that you are fully prepared and compliant too.  We can help you maximise the opportunities to allocate expenses and help you plan when to purchase new assets or even expand your business.
